When Shadi embarks on a secret adventure, he accidentally drags his proud Palestinian family into a trap where they only have two choices; either collaborate with the Israeli occupation, or be shamed and humiliated by their community.


Director- Dima Hamdan

Dima Hamdan is a Palestinian journalist and filmmaker based in Berlin.

A self-taught filmmaker, she wrote and directed several short films since 2007. Her latest short film, “Blood Like Water”, was shot in Bethlehem with support from the Palestine Film Lab and the French Consulate in Jerusalem. A previous film, “The Bomb”, was shot in Berlin with support from the Berlin-Medienboard and Die Beauftragte der Bundesregierung fur Kultur und Medien (BKM).

As a screenwriter, she won several grants in recognition of her work, including the Shasha Screenwriting Grant by the Abu Dhabi Film Commission, the Goteborg Development Fund and the Royal Film Commission Development Fund. She participated in several film labs and workshops, including HOTHOUSE -a development atelier by the London Film School , the Rawi-Sundance Middle Eastern Screenwriters’ Lab, Babylon International, Med Film Factory and Sud Ecriture in Tunis.

Her debut feature film, “Amnesia”, won the development grant by the Royal Film Commission of Jordan and is slated for production in 2024.
